1. Our commitment
Revive & Rewrite CIC is committed to making this website accessible in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Accessibility isn’t an afterthought for us. The people we exist for include disabled people, neurodivergent people, older adults, and people who access the web in non-standard ways. The site needs to work for them.
2. What we’ve done
This site has been built with the following principles:
- Semantic HTML, with proper headings, landmarks, and lists.
- Alt text for meaningful images.
- Sufficient colour contrast between text and background, tested against WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios.
- Keyboard-operable navigation and interactive elements, including the menu, dropdowns, and form controls.
- Focus styles that are visible when navigating by keyboard.
- A clear, consistent layout across pages so the experience is predictable.
- Responsive design that adapts to mobile, tablet, and desktop screens.
- Plain English, with structural typography rather than decorative font choices for body text.
3. Compatibility with assistive technology
The site is designed to be compatible with the most recent versions of the following screen readers and browsers:
- NVDA with Firefox or Chrome on Windows
- JAWS with Edge or Chrome on Windows
- VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS
- TalkBack with Chrome on Android
4. Known limitations
We know we are not perfect. This is a small organisation without a dedicated accessibility team, and the site is being actively developed. We are aware of the following limitations:
- Some images are decorative and use minimal alt text. Where an image carries information, we aim to describe it in the surrounding text.
- Where photographs are credited to third parties, the aspect ratio or framing may not be ideal for every screen size.
- The site has not yet been formally audited by an independent accessibility specialist. We intend to commission a full audit as the organisation grows.
If you find an accessibility barrier we haven’t listed here, please tell us. Reports are taken seriously and treated as priority.
5. Reporting an issue
If you experience any difficulty using this website, or if a piece of content is hard to access in your preferred format, please get in touch. We will respond within five working days and do our best to provide the information in a format that works for you.

6. Standards and enforcement
The Equality Act 2010 requires us to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people and not to discriminate. If you believe we have not met your needs and we have not been able to resolve it together, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
7. Changes to this statement
This statement is reviewed regularly and updated as the website and the organisation evolve. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date of the last review at the top.
